We purchase our pearls from a truly wonderful resource. A family business in existence since 1955, they regularly travel the world seeking the finest pearls and precious gemstones available. I personally select these gorgeous pearls from their showroom. I have chosen them for their excellent luster and colorful overtones or for their unusual and interesting shapes.
In my hand knotted strands, I use traditional and timeless techniques to individually hand knot each pearl with fine silk threads, for beauty as well as security. Such high quality silk provides great strength yet allows the pearls a soft, lovely drape. Hand knotting also prevents loss of an entire strand should a break occur. The classic beauty of a strand of hand knotted pearls, allows it to stand alone as the focal piece.
I also use pearls in my deigns with other components, as an intricate part of an overall design, where they may be complements to a larger piece.
Pearls complement all styles of clothing and caring for them is easy. To protect your pearls, make them the last thing you put on after dressing and applying lotions and fragrance and the first thing you take off before removing any clothing. Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing and store them separately from other jewelry. Pearls should not be kept in sealed plastic bags. Industry experts recommend re-stringing hand knotted pearls at least every two years if you wear them very frequently.
